The greatest invention ever

That would have to be plastic bins. Yes, the plastic bins you can pick up at any local store. The plastic bins that come in numerous shapes and sizes and colors. Not only do I love them because I have a fetish for organizing (which I need to say I am not so good at but I love the attempt). Not because some of them come with lids that you need the strength of a superhero to remove, thus making it almost impossible for a certain child of mine to open and dump the entire contents all over the house without my knowledge. But because I have discovered a new way to use them. I call it bucket head aliens.
Yup, just place that plastic bin on top of your childs head, wrap a long blanket around their shoulders and let them wonder throught the house talking and making loud alien sounds at the top of their voice. Its okay, because you'll barely hear those muffled voices. So play on, my little bucket head aliens...

Rhyme Pro -clash of the worlds-

Oh the difficulties of being a brunette trying to raise a blonde. It really is hard work. My dear sweet little 6 year old blond how I love you and your sweet sincerety. You are my jewel. You are the only child who more often then not will actually listen to your not so patient mommy and most often does what I ask without much fuss. But despite your caring way, your sensitive heart, we have focusing issues.
(Now, yes, she is 6 I KNOW...but really, does everything HAVE to go in one ear and out the other?)
So one issue we face is Rhyming. Now in my old, wise, 31 year old mind this should be fairly simple. However, Emma gets confused with rhyming words and words that start with the same letter for example.
In Emma's world Jar rhymes with Jacket.
In my world Jar rhymes with Car.
Emma can rhyme: Pen, Pencil
I can rhyme: Bat, Hat
Come over to my world Emma-Jean!
So even though we can spend a lengthy amount of time rhyming and singing rhymes and playing rhyming games, she'll get it! And less then 2 minutes later, she's back to her world, and Im still in mine.
"I got it mom! Table rhymes with Top, right?!"
*sigh* I suppose we can stay in our own worlds, because in Emma's world despite the rhyming difficulties she seems to hold a natural talent for math. If she were to come into my world that natural talent would quickly diminish. So I guess despite the color of our hair roots, despite the fact that my little girl will more likely have natural blonde hair forever, if she can stick with the math maybe she won't fall into the "dumb blonde" mold. However, we'll keep practicing on that rhyming!
And in the background brennon's yelling "fountain, mountain"

4 down 14 more to go

Brennon decided he wanted to go to the Mountains for his birthday. So off we went on a very cold windy day to brave the hills with our blue turbo twister slides and hot chocolate. Then of course for some extremely tasty pizza at Bob and Tonys, a few dozen quarters for the games. A cake from the grocery store (sorry buddy, next year i'll make it!). Brennon fell of his seat and cracked his head on the brick wall before posing for that cake and candle picture, it didn't take long though for his smile to reappear when it came time for eating it.

Whats in your fridge??

Theres toys in my refridgerator and food in my couch.

Hes doing what?

Yup thats right, at the young age of just 3 months old our little guy is really trying to roll over.

Keep going Dylan you'll get it someday!

Candy Cane Cocoa

So what do you do on a cold winters day, when you have whipping cream that needs to get used, and candy canes from Christmas?

You make hot cocoa of course!

Never again

So a friend last year reminded me of this kid craft of crayons and wax paper. So this year I decided to try and do it.

It was fun

The kids enjoyed it

Peeling the crayons was a pain

Crayons bleed through wax paper and stain

When you have a 3 year old busy body, crayon shavings get ALL OVER the floor

So...yes, there fun

yes, there cute

and no, i'll never do them again
