From one Moment to the Next

So one minute your having a good time at the cozy cow dairy with the kids and memaw. Your in the bathroom washing hands after pet petting asking kids if they need to use the restroom. Of course no they don't. Then your in the car getting ready to leave and wait, yes they do have to go.
So memaw takes them inside and gets directions on the best way to get to the nursery so you can buy a tomato plant. Your told to take hwy 34 to county road 257. However, once in the car and on hwy 34 hail starts pelting the vehicle. The wise Memaw says perhaps we should pull over so a windshield doesn't break. But determined driver thinks we can keep going. Eventually however, the bullheaded driver decides its probably best to pull over and wait a bit. So, while were sitting in the car that is shaking and getting a lot of pretty dents ( kids are surprisingly not scared and crying) The two adults in the front seat are worrying that a window is going to break its hitting us so hard, we noticed that you can no longer see the road or the area for that matter in front of us. Everything is a cloud of black grey, then suddenly its all gone and its all over. We pull back onto the road slowly and as we along with our neighboring vehicles inch our way forward we start to see that all around us car windows have been shattered by hail and pressure. Fields are empty and now just dirt. power lines are down, cars have been twisted off the roads. And had it not been for that extra potty break, we would have been right in the middle of the tornado. Heading down the exact route the tornado took. And I know God was with us.

Now THAT'S a Dumb Question!

I firmly believe that as parents we can often ask our kids really dumb questions. If you don't think you do, maybe you should ask your kids...perhaps that's a dumb question in itself! And I am notorious for asking those types of questions. But today I think I had to ask one that really tops list. As I was cleaning up the living room I happened across a battery. "Why is there a battery on the floor, and why does it have teeth marks on it?"

I told you it tops the list!

Happy May Day

So way back when, May Day was celebrated in some way or form by some culture and all I really know is there is something called a May pole that gets danced around with ribbon that eventually gets wound around the pole in decorative fashion. Then theres the May Day baskets that get filled with goodies and are given to others. Sometimes left on doorsteps in secret.
Well, those who know for the past 2 years I have been a part of leadership in our MOPS group (mothers of preschoolers). I have led about 60++ woman in different craft activities and its been a good time. We have done a variety of crafts and charitable activites over the past two years and tonight I say goodbye. Well, tonight is my last night on leadership for this group. Time for me to move on to other things, like my family. But before I leave my position I was able to fill 72 little baskets with flowers and candy for each woman tonight. And I know your super curious as to what types of things I have done with our group well let me show you... Oh, and there are some things not pictured. For instance the nametags we do every year, an envelope organizer (my least favorite), Boo Boo bunnies, and one of my favorites...Make and Take apple crisp..yummy!! We also did No sew fleece blankets that we donated to our local NICU, and we held a baby shower night were we played games and moms brought baby items to donate to our pregnancy resource center.

Gender confusion and M&M's

I had to purchase a bag of M&M's candy for our MOPS group. So there they were sitting on the counter. Brennon is starring at the package when he says to me, "The blues can be the boys, the reds can be the girls, the yellows...they can be the thinking ones".
