Small Talk

conversations that are my life. Simple, obnoxious, funny, some days redundant. But none the less its all small talk.

Talk with Addy generally sounds like;
"Mom, I burped"
"you burped?"
"yeah, that's funny"

"Mom, I like this song"
"you like this song?"
"yeah"

"Mom, Olive bite me"
"Addy, Olives not in the car with us"
"MOM!!!! OLIVE BITE ME!!!"
"Olive bite you?"
"yeah"

Today one with Brennon sounded like this:

"mom, this is for the toilet, the bathtub, and the sink" (this, refers to a bottle of bubble bath)
"Brennon, did you dump that in the toilet and the sink?"
"no, um I didn't" (mom gives a look) "um, just a little tiny bit"
"Brennon if you dump out all the bubble bath you won't have any for bath time"
"But mom, there's more at target, there's 2 more bottles, I saw them"
"But Brennon that was just a special treat to get it, you won't get anymore for a very long time"
"but MOM, I said I only put a little small bit in the toilet and the sink, that's what I told you!"

And with Drama Mama please make sure to read this section out loud using your best pre-teen, hip swaying, center of stage type voice.

"Mom- Mom"
"Mom- Mom"
"Mom- Mom"
"Mom- Mom"
"Mom-Mom"
"Mom-Mom"
Now, mind you I am not ignoring this little girl of mine, but whenever she talks to me lately my name is 'mom, mom'. which for some reason just drives me batty, like silverware clinking, or nails on the chalk board type crazy. So we had come to an agreement that when she said my name twice in a row I would not answer her, in hopes to break this habit of hers.
"Mom- Mom"
"Mom- Mom"
"Emma, remember what we said about you saying 'mom, mom' and that you only need to say it once and I will answer you.
"oops, I forgot"
"that's okay"
"um, Mom- Mom"
"Mom- Mom"
"Danyelle" ( now she is smirking at me)
"Yes, Emma-Jean"
"Can I get a drink"
"Yes"
"um Mom- Mom, can you get me a glass"

know it all..

"mom, how do you make gum?"
"um, Emma I'm not sure exactly how they make gum"
"well, I hate to say this, but I know how"
"well how then?"
"first, you put jello in a pan and then you cook it until its all done, about 2 minutes. Then after that you mix it up and put it into paper"

Emma the Ant

Finally Blogger and my computer are working together to bring you those highly anticipated photos of my little girl exploring and acting her way around the Greeley courthouse.

To boast, or not to boast...

That is the question, I mean really why would I announce to the world that my backside is on the front page of our local newspaper??? I mean really that would just be silly. I am sure you would much rather see the cute pictures of my dear little emma all dressed up in her ant costume playing a perfectly practiced role, with only a slight pause of hesitation. And looking oh so adorable sitting in the judges chair posing for a pic for mom.

wait, I guess I should "play" to my audience right?!?...so heres a picture of my backside, and later i'll put up those cute emma pictures for ya.

Oh, and if you want the story just go to http://www.thegreeleytribune.com/ click on local news then click on the story "kids take over court".

helpers

So im holding a squirmy 4 month old while trying to reach way up high (okay not so high, it just seems that way due to my height issues) anyway, trying to get the video game going for 2 kids to play is proving to be a little work while the said 4 month old is ripping hair out of my head.
kid #1 says, "mom, i'll hold dylan for you while you get the game for us"
"oh, thanks sweetheart, your a great helper to me"
Kid #2 says, "mom, i'll pat him on his leg if he gets fussy"
"Thank you brennon, your a great helper to me too".
